What Standard Kindergartens Cover
Most kindergarten programs introduce basic literacy skills (letter recognition, beginning sounds), early numeracy (counting to 100, identifying shapes), and social development (sharing, following directions). That’s a wonderful start, but unfortunately, many schools stop here—leaving children underprepared for the academic leap into first grade. But not ACE Prep.
How ACE Prep Elevates Kindergarten Learning
We turn counting into problem-solving. While standard kindergartens practice counting objects, our students tackle real-world math challenges: “If we have 5 students at the art table but only 3 paintbrushes, how many more do we need?”
We cultivate independent readers. Our systematic phonics approach yields impressive results; 93% of our kindergarteners enter first grade reading at or above grade level as measured by the iPReady reading diagnostic assessment. Twelve percent tested above the 80th percentile, which represents a mid-first grade benchmark.
We integrate play with purpose. During “Construction Corner” time, students build letter formations with blocks while verbalizing sounds. This multisensory approach cements phonics knowledge naturally through engaging activities.

Clear reading instruction. Ask how they teach children to read and how they track progress. Our teachers use systematic phonics instruction to weekly measure your child’s skills and ensure steady progress.
Balanced schedules. Our daily routine alternates between teacher-guided instruction and student-directed exploration. This balance maximizes both foundational skills and creative development.
Meaningful communication. Parents receive daily communication log notes from teachers that showcase both academic progress and social-emotional growth.
