FAQs

WHAT IS A CHARTER SCHOOL?

Charter schools are tuition-free, open enrollment public schools. We have no district or catchment zones but instead can enroll any student who lives in Indiana. Charter schools have increased autonomy, ability to make curricular, financial, and hiring decisions, and increased accountability. ACE Prep is authorized by the Indiana Charter School Board.

What does ACE Prep’s state report card from the Indiana Department of Education say?

It is required that every district share the link to their state report card data found on the Indiana Department of Education’s website. To learn more about our school, please click here: ACE Prep report card

Do I have to pay tuition?

No, ACE Prep Academy is tuition-free.

Any student enrolling in Kindergarten (5 years-old by September 1, 2020), 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th grade can attend ACE Prep.

For the 2022-2023 school year, we are currently enrolling scholars for Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade, and 6th Grade. We will add a new grade level each year until we are a full K-8 school serving just over 500 scholars and families. Seats are available on a first come, first served basis.

All members of the ACE Prep staff and community deeply believe that all our scholars can be on a path to college. We provide a small, academically rigorous environment to ensure that your child is reading and performing math at or above grade-level. Our scholars receive double the amount of literacy instruction and math instruction everyday as well as targeted tutoring during the school day. Our families are all part of our ACE Prep Family and receive frequent communication from their child’s teacher in addition to home visits before the start of school, in-person conferences and bi-monthly parent university nights and parent action councils. Finally, our scholars participate in daily recess and enrichment classes (art, music, PE).

While ACE Prep does NOT provide transportation, our extended schedule and community partnerships can help ease the burden for some of our families. ACE Prep opens its doors at 7:30 am and dismisses at 3:30 pm for K-4 and 4:00 pm for the middle school (1:00 pm dismissal for all grades on Fridays). If you are looking for before or after-school care including transportation to and from ACE Prep, we recommend – Jaffe’s Place of Learning, SafeCare Development Center, Little Steps Childcare, and Zetta’s Place.

Yes! We offer before and after school care, from 6:30 am- 6:00 PM.

ACE Prep scholars wear official school uniforms that must be purchased through School Zone. Scholars are welcome to wear undershirts in any solid color, socks of any color or style, and hair in any style or fashion. Hair accessories may also be any color or style.
